The Interactive Configurator – Mercedes

We all know that China has crowded cities. Beijing being one of them. Digital Illusions worked with a local Mercedes dealer to develop a way to have an entire auto showroom in a single space using holographic technology and a custom configurator. We developed the software to allow clients to build their own car and have it appear holographically before them full size. They could see the interior, exterior, change wheels or whatever items they wanted. The sales host then could allow them to drive the model of the car while ordering the exact version they themselves designed. This can be used for furniture, large equipment or any other product that takes space to show all versions.

Robert F. Kennedy Experience Indiana Historical Society

Digital Illusions worked with the Indiana Historical Society Museum to bring part of our history back to life. Robert F. Kennedy gave a speech in Indianapolis that told the world about the death of Martin Luther King. It was a stirring speech that is recreated with the same microphone and costuming as originally there. Digital Illusions created the content for the display. The group gives the speech on the back of a truck from the period within the museum replicating exactly what happened that fateful night.

Projection Mapping in Houston! Black Flag Ants

Digital Illusions worked with Marcus-Thomas advertising to produce this large format projection mapping across from the Houston Astros Stadium. A one-night event, we projected large ants crawling around and within the face of the building and a giant can of black flag appears and sprays them off. It was a huge success with the local media picking it up and running with it.

Freedom Homes

Ann worked with DLR Group and Blue Robot to develop and host this website to help the developers communicate with all people involved. We also helped the client incorporate this site into their own site when needed. This was a password protected site that allowed all involved to communicate safely.

Cal Anderson Park Initiative

Ann worked with DLR Group and Russ Kern of Kern Creative Design to develop this website to handle community imput for this very important project. This site was updated regularly based on community meetings and the outcomes. This community website helped build trust between the developer and the people who live there and made the local a partner in the project. It was a huge success!

The CW Upfronts

Digital Illusions worked with Valencia Production Partners to develop the holographic show for the CW Network’s Upfronts in New York City. With Giant 3D logos and the president of the network replicating herself multiple times, the crowd loved it! The hologram was used throughout the show presenting 2D video with 3D elements in sync with a live presenter.

DLR Group Cleveland Entertainment District Imagined.

Ann worked with DLR Group to develop this VR experience that shows how the famous Cleveland Theater District could become the Entertainment District of the US. Projection Mapping, creative uses of LED, Drones and even large format gaming are some of the technologies imagined.

Alcoa / Arconic VR Experience

Digital Illusions worked with C-Squared Communications to develop this exciting VR experience for Alcoa / Arconic for the Paris Air Show. Using Oculus headsets attendees were able to see how long this iconic American company has been involved in flight. From the first flight at Kitty Hawk to the latest in space flight. Alcoa / Arconic has been there!

Medical Teaching and Technologies

Digital Illusions has been working on using holographic technology for medical teaching since 2008. We have developed new ways of filming within the operating room and creative ways to show that footage holographically. This research has led us to develop a system for educational facilities to allow their students to choose how they want to learn. Here we worked with Dr. Ian Alexander, a world leader on the foot, to show how to do a foot exam.

Oticon at Audiology Now!

Exploding planets, a virtual spokesperson and hearing instruments big enough to fit King Kong have attracted huge crowds at this years Audiology NOW show in Dallas. Digital Illusions has brought Oticon’s Binural Sound to life in a way that truly touches all of the senses. Professionals have packed the Oticon exhibit for a chance to see and feel a show unlike anything else. The futuristic theater is filled with attendees waiting to get a peek at this year's must see. As one attendee said, "It’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. I’m still not sure what was real and what wasn’t!"

University of Phoenix - Being Digital

The University of Phoenix, Pereira O'Dell and Laundry worked closely with Digital Illusions to produce an amazing display of digital creativity. Digital Illusions supervised the shoot and holographic production of Nick Negroponte of the MIT media lab in Boston. The footage was combined with state-of-the-art graphics and re-projected on a holographic stage with live actors and props in front of a live audience. This was recorded for a classroom segment for the University of Phoenix. The live audience was not told that Nick was not actually there and the reactions of the crowd when they found out he was a hologram were recorded for the classroom segment. 

GE Lighting Tradeshow

GE Lighting tapped CEI and Digital Illusions to re-define the holographic experience. CEI and DI worked together to develop a gestural system using the x-box Kinect system to be able to choose and rotate GE products virtually in holographic space. Attendees could watch a holographic fly thru experience of lighting and then when they wanted, enter the world of gestural technology and choose the lighting fixture of their choice. By just moving their bodies, they could literally investigate all aspects of the fixture they choose. This is the first time that kinect has been used with holograms and was a huge hit! 

Lolita’s Cantina, Las Vegas

Digital Illusions and Rick Haynes helped open the first holographic nightclub in Las Vegas. DI created hours of content for the club as well as designing and installing the custom holographic display. While this club did not last, the idea of having 24/7 entertainment holographically would be a great draw for the tech savvy younger generation!

Caesars Palace

Digital Illusions worked with Ceasar’s Palace Shops in Las Vegas to develop the (14) 14’ x 20’ screens surrounding the newly refinished fountain animations. DI shot the video in 4K in Las Vegas using realistic costuming and props over green screen and then composited over detailed CG Backgrounds to end with the entire coliseum being destroyed by water. This large format entertainment project filled 3920 feet of LED video screens which was one of the largest in the country.

Avon Holographic Presentation

Digital Illusions worked with Triton Productions to allow Charles M. Herington, Avon's Executive Vice President, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe, to be live on stage and interact… with himself. Avon's meeting attendees, which was held at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, were amazed when the first Charles introduced the second Charles. "The crowd went crazy. I didn't know when they were going to quiet down." an attendee said. Mr. Herington appeared in a chair, rose up from the stage and was beamed in by Digital Illusions creative team.

Amway 50th Anniversary

Digital Illusions has done the seemingly impossible. They brought Jay Van Andel back to life to address a crowd of 5000 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas! For the first time ever in the US, DI used standard definition archival footage to stitch together 7 individual clips to complete a 2 minute speech in high definition. Jays son, Steve Van Andel said that it really was his dad up there. It really was amazing! The show also had huge company logos, giant marble pillars and a globe that showed all of the locations in the world that Amway has a presence.

MAG Large Equipment Trade Show

MAG, the most trusted partner for manufacturing solutions in the world, came to 4 Productions of Easton, MA. and Digital Illusions to help truly get inside their business and equipment to show their customers why they are truly the best.

Large equipment manufacturers spend millions of dollars just shipping their products to a show and then getting them from the dock to their space. MAG was able to use Digital Illusions' hologram to save hundreds of thousands of dollars while being able to show things they just couldn't otherwise.

Developing 5 individual videos showing the 4 parts of their business, Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial and Energy along with an overview video of all 4,  MAG  truly amazed all attendees at the show.  The videos zoomed into equipment, had cars build themselves from the ground up and even stopped liquids dead in their tracks to show their new technologies in a whole new way.

This show was one of the most productive MAG has ever had and the ability to show why they are best in a whole new way was a huge reason.

Ryder Cup Gala Event

Samuel Ryder died in 1936, but at the 2008 Ryder Cup Gala Event he was full size, front and center, and looking better than ever. Samuel had some tricks up his sleeve this time around. He hit golf balls into the crowd and disappeared and reappeared, transporting himself from one side of the stage to the other in a magical glow. He even appeared in a fully holographic chair at one point.  The results were spectacular, and the live audience was in awe. As one audience member said, "I had no idea he wasn’t real. I don’t have a clue how it was done, but it was amazing."   

Digital Illusions created the content as well as producing the holographic illusion for the show.

InfoComm Welcome

In a story very similar to the "Little Engine that could", Digital Illusions garnered the coveted lobby position, inviting attendees to this year's InfoComm09 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando,

Florida. A spokesperson magically appeared and disappeared on stage while huge graphics highlighted the important points of InfoComm allowing the attendee to navigate their way thru the hundreds of exhibitors and events at this years show. Digital Illusions videotaped the spokesperson in HD and designed and added the graphics digitally.  It definitely was one of the highlights of this year's event and showed the importance of creative content in any production.

Cochlear Attract Interactive Display

Ann DeVilbiss worked with DLR Group and Cochlear to develop an interactive experience that allows the user to feel part of the community. Entering information using HIPA rules, the data driven display will animate to show you how many people with a cochlear implant live around you. This is one of the main displays of the experience center they have in their corporate headquarters in Colorado.

ACURA DEALER MEETING

When Acura wanted something special at the 2010 Acura Dealer Meeting in Denver, Colorado, they came to Gail & Rice and Digital Illusions to provide the WOW factor they were looking for. Gail & Rice worked with Hal Bassett, DI Technical Director, to design a hologram that Literally flew into place allowing actual cars to drive underneath during some parts of the show. DI provided content in the form of photo real digital cars built from the engineers raw CAD designs.
